Swimlane format graphical arrangement where all actives for given role are shown in single vertical lane: each swimlane has activities (specific tasks tht need to be accomplished as part of process) Role = subset of activities in bus process performed by actor. Actor = person group, department, org, info syst. Repository = collection of data stored w/in business process: can be computer databases, files in cloud, printed records. Data flows represent mov"t of data from one activity to another. Measured in 2 dimensions effectiveness & efficiency: effective bus process = one that enables org to accomplish its strategy, efficiency = ratio of benefits to costs. 5 components of an information syst: hardware, software, data, procedures, people. Hardware & people = actors take action.
