About 4. 5-4. 6 billion years ago, the solar system began to form from the gravitational collapse of a spinning nebula. Previously this cloud of gas and dust existed simply as one of the elements of the. Milky way, but the formation of a new planetary system would bring about the existence of a unique planet, which until now is the only one known to sustain life. To understand the origin of the earth you have to start by knowing the principle of the solar. According to the nebular hypothesis, one of the most accepted theories in this area, the nebula collapsed under its own gravitational pull. It started to contract more and more, and as this happened it spun faster. Eventually, the nebula acquired a flattened, disk-like shape with a bulge in the center. Temperature was the key factor in the composition of the planets around the sun.
