Uniform crime reports (ucr) published crime rates yearly by the fbi. Omits corporate crime, white-collar crime, organized and political crime. Only 51% of violent crimes and 39% of property crimes were reported to the police in. Violent and property crimes have declined 13 and 6% respectively. Men are more likely to be the offender and victim of crimes. Women have had an increase in arrests for theft, dui, and vagrancy. 25-34 year old"s have the highest crime rates. Street crimes are committed by the poor, uneducated and unemployed: especially since crimes indicated above are not listed, police assume lower-class individuals are more likely to commit crimes, so they target them, economic deprivation induces crimes. Violence: an act of force perceived by the powerful as threatening to the status quo. Habitual offender vs. one-time only criminal i. e. burglary, larceny, auto-theft, robbery, rape, assault, and murder. Moral order crimes: acts that violate laws that enforce the morality of the majority.
