When i first started nursing school, i was scared to even talk to patient"s due to the lack of patient interaction. As the semester went on and from the encouragement of my classmates, i gained more confidence. In level i, i was being delegated baths and bedding changes. I was delegated to flush iv"s, take iv"s out, hang piggy-back infusions, and much more. When working as a student nurse, i was able to practice skills and be delegated certain skills, such as taking urine samples, taking out iv"s, and catheter removal. As i have progressed through the program, i have acquired many new skills and have been given opportunities to practice these newly acquired skills. One of my favorite skills that i have been delegated, is to insert an iv (under supervision of the clinical instructor). Since i am in level iv now, i can"t wait to be delegated the new skills this semester brings.
