An actor, or human being, acts in some sort of behavior towards some sort of object (object may be another human being). These profiles represent society"s fundamental sentiments about these identities: fundamental sentiments are ideas we carry around in our head all the time. Basic beliefs about what kind of people father, mothers, etc. are. In the real world we are observing people doing specific things. We match these observations to our fundamental sentiments and see how they match up. In terms of abo statement, mother-bakes cookies-for kids: difference between fundamental sentiments and transient sentiments (come and go) is called deflection. Smaller deflection means that the world is making sense and people are doing what we expect them to do. If deflection is super bad, we try and redefine the behavior.
