This is around 1920, this is a real shift in how people are approaching deviance. How society is structured that it can produce more crime and deviance in some groups. This is the model we are using: 5 steps. A key component is these strain theories is status. The poor, the middle class, women, old, young have been linked to this success goal. There are appropriate ways to achieve this goal and there are not. The most appropriate means to achieve this goal is good education and good job.
