Office hours tuesday 10:45-11:45am in coates 121 or by appointment. This course is an introduction to judaism, christianity and islam. We will learn about their histories, principle teachings, beliefs and practices as well as touch upon some contemporary religious issues. This course is designed to fulfill the humanities requirement for general education by addressing the following learning outcomes: 1, students will acquire an understanding f how knowledge is acquired in the humanities discipline of religious studies. 2, students will develop knowledge and respect for the inherent diversity of people and ideas. Required books: (available in the bookstore: j. corrigan, f. m. Jafee: jews, christians, muslims: a comparative introduction to monotheistic. 1, creative exercise in one class session in small groups: 6% of the final grade. The first 15 minutes of the class session on thursdays a group (2-4) of students will create and present a creative exercise about the topic and readings of the week.
