Aristotles physics = evaluation of the natural world (philosophy of nature) Natural substances in a constant state of becoming. As natural substances we have change growth and motion. Artificial also must be created by natural substances. Causes are needed if we are going understand the nature of substances. 4 causes are uniformally applicable to all substances. 1 matter or material cause the physical stuff that which the object is made. 2 formal or form cause = setting out somethings definition. 3 efficient cause = that thing which brings a substance into existince. 4 final cause = somethings proper end the fulfillment of it"s essence. Teleology = the specific end everything is trying to fulfill. There is a coincidental overlap between two distinct causal change. Plants animals and humans have souls, anything alive. The soul is the form of the body. We have the natural abilities plus the ability to think rationally.
