Document Summary
We collected data from 83 undergraduate students from a southern public university in the us with an average age of 20. 26 (sd=2. 93) ranging from 17 to 34. Those who chose to inform us of their ages were composed of 25 males and 54 females. Their student classification were: 23 freshmen, 29 sophomores, 14 juniors, and 13 seniors. The individuals who chose to inform us of race list as follows: caucasian, 77. 1% (n=64); african- American, 7. 2% (n=6); asian-american, 6. 0% (n=5); asian-indian, 1. 2% (n=1); native. American, 1. 2% (n=1); hispanic, 2. 4% (n=2); and "other", 1. 2% (n=1). Our participants were from a group of university students via an online survey system where a variety of different studies were posted for students to take for course research credit. Our participants completed the survey in which they self-assessed different characteristics of trust with their mother/mother figure. We recorded our responses with a sliding scale that varied from trustworthy to untrustworthy.
