You need to check moodle on a daily basis. This background is essential for solving a wide variety of engineering problems. To develop the basic knowledge and skills necessary to analyzing flowing fluids and their effects (including forces, mass and energy fluxes) on engineering systems (such as piping systems). Student outcome objectives: the student will have an understanding of basic fluid properties and how these influence fluid statics and dynamics. These properties include density, specific weight, specific gravity, viscosity (absolute. & kinematic), compressibility, surface tension, vapor pressure and the application of the ideal gas law: the student will have an understanding of fluid statics and how it is applied to calculate forces on surfaces/objects submerged in a fluid. This will include both plane and curved surfaces.
