Anthropology: linguistic anthropology- how language influences culture and how culture influences language, cultural (sociocultural) anthropology- learned behavior passed down through many generations. (rituals, religion, power/politics, economics, kinship/marriage/family) It is believed that one must travel to foreign land to study cultural anthropology: archaeology- a study of the past based on material remains of a culture. Material remains- anything made or modified by humans. (pottery, weapons, architecture, basketry) They learn about the past based on what was left behind: excavation- thought of as a major source of searching in archaeology. It is a very meticulous process and not just digging holes . As they find artifacts, they are also destroying it. You must document all the things as detailed and quickly as possible: biological anthropology- the study of humans from a biological perspective, including the past and the present, and also the study of non-human primates.
