Anxiety disorders include panic disorder, phobias, ocd, generalized anxiety disorder, acute stress and. Physical features include jumpiness, jitteriness, trembling, shaking, tightness in the pit of the stomach or chest, heavy perspiration, sweaty palms, lightheadedness and fainting, dryness of the mouth and throat, hearth pounding, upset stomach and nausea. It can cause avoidant behavior such as clinging or dependent, agitated behavior. Cognitive features include worry, nagging, sense of dread, apprehension of future, occupation with or keen awareness of bodily sensations, fear of losing control, thinking disturbing thoughts over and over, jumbled or confused thoughts, trouble focusing, and panic. Panic disorders are repeated and unexpected panic attacks with a stronger bodily component than anxiety disorder. Panic attacks are intense anxiety reactions that are accompanied by pounding heart, rapid respiration, shortness of breath, sweating, weakness and dizziness. Panic disorder can lead to agoraphobia or an excessive fear of being in public places in which escape maybe difficult and help unavailable.
