Monogamy and polygyny in south east arnhem land: male coercion and female choice. Seem to be looking at whether sororal polygyny is better, as in more successful, than non-sororal polygyny when it comes to this particular community is austrailia. Two models for polygyny, female choice and male coercion. Male coercion model: in which the females are coerced into a system of polygyny and are forced to exist along with co-wives (harem) For majority (80%) only actually reproduced with one man, but with smaller numbers for two or three and clearly only ever one at a time. Focus on this being a case of male coercion, looking at younger girls marrying older men being coerced" by cultural tradition. Generally female polygyny has fewer individual fertility rates for women than ones in monogamous relationships. In male coercion model the sororal polygyny seems to be more productive than non- sororal polygyny.
