Technological innovation are often categorized into: radical, incremental. Product innovation are embodied in the outputs of an organization (goods and services) Process innovations are innovations in the way an organization conducts ts business, such as in the techniques of producing or marketing goods or services: oriented towards imporving effectiveness, improving effiecy of production. They occur in tandem and not one before the other. The basic distinction is the degree to which an innovation represents a departure from existing practices. Radicalness may be consider a combination of: newness, difficultness. Ex: the introduction of wireless communication products aptly illustrates radicalness, it embodied significantly new technologies that requires new manufacturing and services processes.
