In the workplace, role expectations are looked at through the psychological contract perspective. The psychological contract is an unwritten agreement that exists between employers and employees. Clearly communication what a fair day of work is. Give feedback on how well employees are doing. When a psychological contract focuses on the employer and employee relationship, employees are likely to engage in more organizational citizenship behaviors. You are more likely to experience negative effects on employer performance and satisfaction when management is rundown. When compliance with one requirement of a role makes it harder to comply with another role requirement, there is role conflict.
