Identity: who a person is, representing a synthesis and integration of self-understanding. Personality: the enduring personal characteristics of individual. As early as 13 months of age infants seem to consider another"s perspective when predicting their actions. At about 4 -5 years" children not only start describing themselves in terms of psychological traits, and preserving others in terms of psychological traits. Psychological characteristics and traits: especially from 8 -11 years of age, children increasingly describe themselves in terms of psychological traits, and more concrete descriptions of younger children (popular, mean, smart, dumb, helpful) Social descriptions: children being to include social aspects such as references to social groups in their self-reflections. Describing themselves as a girl scout, or a catholic. That is, in elementary school age children increasingly think about what they can do in comparison to others.
