A fertilized egg gets implanted in the uterus after 6 days of fertilization. Placenta: tissue organ which is connected to the embryo allows for oxygen and nutrients to pass from the mother to the baby, and waste from the baby to the mother. It also produces hormones which spike up the estrogen and progesterone levels of the mother. The majority of women are less interested in sex during pregnancy. Women are often stripped out of their identity when pregnant because it is tied to the care of the child now. Miscarriage: unintended termination of pregnancy prior to the 20th week of pregnancy, when the fetus is old enough to survive on its own after birth. Pregnant women in stressful situation tend to have babies with low birthweight or premature delivery. High status stores place maternity clothes near the lingerie suggesting privacy, while low status stores place them near uniforms implying that pregnancy is a job.
