Neurotic disorders resulted from underlying unconscious conflicts and the implementation of ego defence mechanisms. Five basic somatoform disorders: hypochondriasis, somatization disorder, conversion disorder, pain disorder, body dysmorphic disorder. Somatoform disorder involving severe anxiety over the belief that the person has a disease process without any evident physical cause.
