Personality: dozens of different definitions of personality exist in psychology literature, some definitions are all-inclusive. ex. Personality assessment: personality assessment is the measurement & evaluation of psychological traits, states, values, interests, attitudes, worldview, acculturation, sense of humor, cognitive & behavioral styles, and/or related characteristics. Relatively enduring emphasizes that how a particular trait manifests itself is dependent on the situation. ex. Trait anxiety or anxiety proneness refers to a stable or enduring personality characteristic. People are supposed to indicate either how they feel right at this moment, or how they feel in general. They may lack insight b/c of certain medical/psychological conditions at the time of assessment. Another person as the referent: in some situations, the best available method for the assessment of personality, behavior, or both involves reporting by a 3rd party such as a parent, teacher, spouse or trained observer. ex.
