S response is to stop drinking which is a unconditioned response (ucr). Result---when presented with light + noise again without the ucs shock. Conditioning stimuli are associated with shock the ucs. Avoid drinking when light + noise are presented. Cs connected to cr. learned relationship between light + noise and shock leads to a cr (stop drinking) when light + noise are presented. Group b: s presented with light + noise (cs) + x-ray (ucs) while drinking water. Result---when presented with light + noise alone s continued drinking. No association learned between light + noise and illness. No connection between the cs and ucs and illness is made. Group c: s presented with tasty cue (cs) + x-ray (ucs) made.
