Women of colour feel that gender and racial stereotypes happen to them. Prejudice is a two-way streak: minority majority, majority minority. Any group of people can be targeted. For likely for social groups (racial and ethnic groups) Canadians are usually stereotyped as: nice, dull, boring, country cousin to more exciting america. Other aspects of prejudice: gender, sexual orientation, religion, weight and age. If women who chose to be addressed as ms. Instead of mrs. or miss are viewed more negatively. You can be labeled by your hobbies: dumb jock and party animal . Also where you work; blue collar, white collar and no collar. In the 1940s an experiment was done where african americas young as three years only didn"t think they were good enough. The children were asked to play with a white doll or a black doll most rejected the white doll. Since then african americans have gained more confidence. Attitudes are changing and prejudices aren"t permanent.
