Document Summary

Red light and white light"s efeciveness on photosynthesis. Exposing plants to red light will speed up the rate of photosynthesis as it decreases the levels of co2 in a system compared to other colored lights such as blue light. The hypothesis for this experiment was that red light would increase the rate of photosynthesis (hogewoning et al. Red light has the longest wavelength, to produce glucose in photosynthesis nadph must be synthesized. This is done by photo systems 1 and 2 which eventually reduces nadp reductase complex to form nadph. There were a few materials that were needed for this lab. Firstly 3 tubes were needed to ill with the plant and water. A stopper assembly was needed to measure the amount of o2 released during tesing. Furthermore blue liquid was needed so the levels of o2 can clearly been seen. Lastly a lamp was needed and whether or not the tesing involved red light or not, red paper.
