Document Summary

The article by eelye, (cid:862)obituaries shed euphemisms to chronicle toll of heroin(cid:863) sheds light on the aftermath of losing a battle against heroin addiction. While this article specifically talks about instances of heroine abuse, the characteristics described could really be about any drug or substance. As she provides instances of several obituaries, all of them have something in common: desperation. Whether it is individuals stealing, dumpster diving or lying to their friends and families, everything is to acquire heroine or relieve their craving for it. This is something that is resonated strongly in clarks article. Not only does she talk about addiction to drugs, but also she mentions how one can get addicted to gambling, sex, or really any personal act that makes them feel a sense of euphoria or happiness (57). This shows that all addictions have a behavioral root cause and hence the aftermath of all addictions could be a dark one.
