In this article, a mother is reiterating her disappointment with the mental care system. She mentions the arrogance medical professionals seems to have, the unpredictable nature of psychotic episodes, and the systems inability to deal with these situations. Additionally, mothers of adult children who have been placed in their care feel voiceless, powerless, and drained as they have minimal control and can neither take care of their child, nor ask them to leave (525). These sentiments are echoed in the guardians article.
