As i took the rst bite of my questionable sandwich, i noticed her out of the corner of my eye. There she sat, alone on the edge of the ivory fountain. The red- bricked school behind her cast a shadow on her lap, but the beaming sun illuminating her pale face. Beautifully messy black hair cascaded down her back, a stark contrast to the white shirt she wore. , causing ripples to spread across the fountain"s surface When she looked up, i could see the ever-present frown plastered upon her lips. This wasn"t the rst time i had seen her: every day for the last week i saw her, everywhere. It was as if she was following me, like she was my beautiful shadow. I didn"t understand her, why she was here, and why each time her watery green eyes met mine, i was became frozen with fear.
