Media refers to any form of commutation that targets a mass audience, in either print or electronic form why media matters. We spend so much of our time in a single day being a ected by media. Media is rendered almost invisible because there is so much of it in our everyday lives. Some media uses have been declining in the last decade (newspaper, radio etc) but other forms have increased (tv, internet etc) We are surrounded by media a majority of the time. The e ects of media on individuals and society. Part of the medias power is to de ne. and it can create an us vs them mentality. Stigmatized others are presented as threats tot he way of life of decent people. Absolute others are presented as inherently evil and include those who commit exceptional crimes.
