Humans have 2 different sexes: male and female, which have differ in anatomy, chromosomes, and average levels of some hormones. Intersex individuals: born with some defining anatomical characteristics of each sex. Example: testosterone is found in both men and women, but there is higher levels in men. It can encourage aggressive or dominance seeking behaviours, which is why this is more usual for men than women. The ways that social forces create differences between men"s and women"s behaviour/preferences/treatment/opportunities. As a girl you are told what girls like and as a boy you are told what boys like and how to act. Patriarchy - men having more power than women in things such as politics, economy, and family. People who were placed in one category at birth (i. e. male) but feel they belong in the other category (i. e. female).
