Accommodation: schemes are adjusted to fit new information or experiences: child can identify particular information within a scheme, example: car, sucking different objects allows babies to identify and learn about their taste. Moving vehicles are categorized by cars, trucks and motor cycles. Organization: ordering thoughts into a system of similar behaviours/ thoughts into a higher order system. Sensorimotor stage: lasts from birth to 2 years old, seeing and hearing is connected with physical actions, building an understanding of the world, begins with reflex actions and ends with complex sensorimotor patterns. Sub-stages: simple reflexes first month after birth.
