Properties of light contribute to our perception of images: wavelength important role in perception of color. Intensity important role in perception of brightness: bright vs. dull. Sensitivity the ability to see when light is dim: being able to detect that the stimulus is there, our sensitivity is best in dim light, acuity the ability to see details, best in bright light. What do we see: distorted and upside down 2d retinal image is transformed into the 3d world we perceive. Just behind the pupil is the lens of the eye, which focuses light source on the retina. Cornea protects the eye and helps with bending of the light to get into the pupil, it"s on the outside layer of the eye: when light goes through the lens it inverts the object.
