Caring needs to be centered around the nurse"s goal for each patient. Need for greater focus on promotion of wellbeing: goes beyond priorities of organizations of work or profession. Considers people as having individual potential for creativity and problem solving. Focusing on patients as consumers of healthcare rather than dividing wellbeing into social, economic, physical, etc. domains. Remember that the patient is an expert on themselves. Should use our own understanding from experiences, feelings, and stories in a dignified and respectful way. Strain on capacity to deliver high-quality and safe service: leads to shaken public trust. Waiting for the francis report paralysing effect. Nurses need to be more aware of how their attitudes, beliefs, values, and actions affect their care.
