Document Summary
Once the goals and objectives have been developed, planners need to decide on the most effective and efficient way to reach those goals and objectives. Intervention: planned actions that are designed to prevent disease or injury or promote health in pp. Activities to get people to do more of the desired behavior are part of the intervention. 2 terms that relate to the size of an intervention: Multiplicity: # of activities that make up the intervention. More activities have more effect on pp especially if they are aimed at multiple levels of influence. Greater chance of being successful if they use a socio-ecological approach aka systems approach. Most activities can be placed in larger categories called strategies. Strategy= general plan of action for affecting a health problem and it should always be evidence-based regardless of the type of strategy.
