Health Sciences 2250A/B Chapter Notes - Chapter 7: Observational Learning, Transtheoretical Model, Elaboration Likelihood Model
Document Summary
Theories and models most commonly used for health promotion interventions. Model is a composite, a mixture of ideas or concepts taken from a number of theories used together. Theory set of interrelated concepts, definitions, and propositions that present a systematic view of events or situations by specifying relations among variables in order to explain and predict events of situations. Concepts primary elements of a theory (e. g. personal belief) Constructs when a concept has been developed, created or adopted for use with a specific theory (e. g. perceived barrier) Variable the operational (practical use) form of a construct (i. e. how a construct will be measured) Identify why people behave as they do/why they are not behaving in a healthy way. Identifying information needed before developing the intervention: providing a conceptual framework, providing direction and justification for program activities, providing insights into how best to deliver the intervention.
