Fluency disorder and csd slp try to improve a person"s ability to produce speech fluently. Fluent speech is similar to a pleasant sing-song pattern of talking. Encompasses qualities that make speech sound natural and normal. Disfluency = disruption or breakdown in the flow of speech. Speaking excessively fast can interfere with articulation of vowels and consonants which affects the natural sound of speech.
