Cannabinoid drugs consist of psychoactive substances that act on cannabinoid receptors in the ns. Cannabinoid comes from cannabis plants, which contains naturally occurring types of cannabinoid compounds. Cannabis plants comes in 3 varieties: c. sativa, indica, and ruderalis. These plants are referred to as hemp (fibers of a plant). The flowers and leaves of cannabis contain trichomes, which are small hair-like structures with glands that release a resin that contain a number of biologically active substances called phytocannabinoids. Phyto(cid:272)a(cid:374)(cid:374)a(cid:271)i(cid:374)oids i(cid:374)(cid:272)lude (cid:272)a(cid:374)(cid:374)a(cid:271)is"s key ingredient, -tetrahydro(cid:272)a(cid:374)(cid:374)a(cid:271)i(cid:374)ol ( -thc), a(cid:374)d (cid:1022)-thc, cannabidiol, cannabinol, n-alkalamide, and b- caryophyllene. The composition of the compound varies depending on: 1 the variety of cannabis, 2 the region in which it is grown, 3the pla(cid:374)t"s le(cid:448)els of (cid:373)aturation, and the 4part of the plant sampled. Sativa plants can contain the greatest concentrations of (cid:1023)-thc; indica has the greatest concentration of cannabidiol.
