Chapter 21: ethics and the future of psychological testing. Human rights: right not to be tested but there are exceptions even to this. Responsibilities of test users and test constructors. New tests keep coming out all the time because people disagree on the best ways to measure. Majority of new tests are based on same principles and underlying theories as the old ones; Public and professional pressure to only use fair, accurate, and unbiased instruments. People can also make profit by publishing their tests there are some new ones that differ from the old ones and are rooted in empirical data (these are the non-traditional tests) Non-traditional test proliferation related to certain trends. Increasing role of science of psych in testing: efforts being made to integrate tests with other aspects of applied psych. Minimum acceptable standards for tests are becoming higher so test users can make fully informed decisions and maximize chances of proper test usage.
