PSYC37H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 10: 100 Girls, Classical Test Theory, Intellectual Property
Document Summary
10: the wechsler intelligence scales: wais-iv, wisc-iv, & wppsi-iii. Though both binet and terman considered the influence of nonintellective factors on results from intelligence tests, david wechsler, emphasized that factors other than intellectual ability are involved intelligence behaviour. There are three wechsler intelligence tests: wechsler adult intelligence scale, 4th ed. (wais-iv, wechsler intelligence scale for children, 4th ed. (wisc-iv, wechsler preschool and primary scale of intelligence, 3rd ed. (wppsi-iii). The role of nonintellective factors is apparent in the wechsler intelligence scales. After binet scale"s 1937 revision, the wechsler-bellevue intelligence scale challenged it as a measure of human intelligence, in 1939. Wechsler objected to the single score offered by the 1937 binet scale. Although wechsler"s test did not directly measure nonintellective factors, it took these factors into account in its theory. Wechsler criticized the 1937 binet scale b/c it did not consider that intellectual performance could deteriorate as a person grew older.
