Document Summary

Behavioral (stimulus-response) chain a behavioral chain consists of a number of individual stimulus-response components that occur together in a sequence. *each response except the last produces the sd for the next response but the last is followed by reinforcement. Each sd in the chain is a conditioned reinforcer for the previous response (other than the 1st sd) Stimulus-response chain similar to a behavioral chain. Task analysis the process of analyzing a behavioral chain by breaking it down into its individual stimulus-response components, is called a task analysis. 3 different ways to conduct a task analysis: perform the task yourself & record each of the component responses, observe a competent person engage in the task/behavior, ask an expert (one that performs the task well) Some examples of (complex) task analyses that have been developed & demonstrated by researchers are: hygiene tasks, cleaning procedures, athletic skills, specific employment skills.
