Person avoids aversive stimulus by engaging in behaviour, behaviour is strengthened. Conditioned and unconditioned reinforcers: certain stimuli are naturally reinforcing because the ability of our behaviors to be reinforced by these stimuli has survival value. Example: money is paired with an almost unlimited variety of reinforcers.
