Document Summary
13. 1: the power of the situation: social influences on behaviour. Most people see the world as full of good guys and bad guys when bad things happen, we think the people did it instead of questioning the larger system. Hard to consider the situational explanation for evil we like to believe that people do things, not that we all have the capacity to do them given circumstances. Situational analysis isn"t enough to fully explain a behaviour pattern individuals retain free will so they are still responsible for their behaviour. Social psychologists study the interaction between the person and the situation to understand social reality. Group dynamics: social loa ng and social facilitation. Low ef cacy beliefs occurs if tasks are too hard so people don"t know where to start; overcome by structuring tasks so people know what to do and how to improve.
