State heightened by suggestibility: the person is in a condition that leaves the individual vulnerable to prompts and suggestions by the hypnotist. According to this definition, hypnosis is about suggestibility. The hypnotist suggests changes and the subjects likely to comply as a result of the hypnosis. Hypnotic suggestions will not change an individual. A hypnotist could suggest something to someone but that will not mean the subject will comply.
