It is the ability to look beyond the everyday experiences to discover the patterns and meanings that lie behind that world. It focuses on different and similarities in the ways that societies and structures and cultural meanings are created. Sociocultural anthropologist explore both the universal and the particular moving back and forth, analyzing their works via. fieldwork and ethnography. In our culture a chair is just a chair to sit in, a pen is something to write with and a bed is something to sleep on. But in other cultures these objects are not just seen as objects they all have meanings that are culturally specific. Using the examples of chairs- for education purposes but if we were to replace chairs with furniture it would promote bodily mobility and conversation with others.
