When they heard someone laughing, they recorded who laughed (speaker, listener both) and the gender of the speaker and the listener. Findings: -women laugh more than men do in everyday conversations. Biggest discrepancy in laughing is when the speaker is a women and the listener is a man. In this case, women laugh more than twice as often as men do. When a man speaks and a woman listens. Women is more likely to laugh than the man is. Men are more likely than women to engage in long monologues and interrupt when others are talking. Men are less likely to ask for help or directions because doing so would imply a reduction in their authority. Helpful female passenger, stubborn male not wanting directions.
