Affectional orientation: the interaction between affect and cognition such that it produces attraction, erotic desire, and ultimately feelings of love for members of the other sex, same sex, or both. Sexual identity label: the general label one chooses to use to describe one"s sexual attractions (typically gay, lesbian, bisexual, questioning, or queer) The ecological model of lgbti identity occurs within a complex environmental context, including: affect, cultural/spiritual in uence, parental in uence, behaviour, cognition, peers to make up a consolation of identity. The more committed people are in their relationships, the more well being they feel. Research has found that lesbian couples are more satis ed in their relationships but also have higher divorce rates. Both bisexual women and men are more physically attracted to men and emotionally attracted to women. Paraphilia: used to describe uncommon types of sexual expression. Para means outside of and phila means love. Non-coercive paraphilias: usually solo activities but could sometimes involve a consenting individual.
