Believes we have one general intelligence (g) and it underlies all intelligent behaviour. He developed a factor analysis- a statistical procedure that identifies clusters of related items. Investigators studies these clusters and found that those who excelled in one of the seven generally scored well on the others. Kanazawa says that general intelligence scores do correlate with the ability to solve novel problems but does not correlate with skills in evolutionary familiar situations i. e. marrying and parenting. Intelligence is viewed as multiple abilities that come in different packages. Savant syndrome- those with limited mental ability but has an exceptional specific skill i. e. computation or drawing. Stern(cid:271)erg"s three intelligen(cid:272)es: analytical (academic problem solving) intelligence. A single right answer, predicts school grades, vocational success: creative intelligence.
