Decision making: the process of choosing from among several alternatives, Depends on individuals and groups choosing from among known alternatives. Influences for problem solving and decision making: influence the methods used for problem solving, the quality of the decision made and the satisfaction participants feel. Power and control processes: who is involved in decision making. Ex. in the military the leader makes the decisions. Ex. other organizations look for broad participation and consensus. Determinate situations circumstances that appear relatively routine and mundane where alternative solutions are straightforward. Indeterminate situations: interpretations of and responses to a problem are less clear.
