Non-verbal communication: messages that can be expressed; they can include vocal communication (voice tone) but not language (sign language) Verbal communication - voluntary and conscious, clear or vague, shaped by culture, single channel (words only) Nvc - unconscious, relational, ambiguous, shaped by biology, continuous and multi-channeled.
