I believe that the use of meditation in the prison system is very effective. Even though from a legal point of view, prisons are created to punish people for their gruesome deed. Ethically prisons are supposed to change the person the person for who they were when they committed such sins. In order to know ourselves as human beings meditation is a key element. These prisoners are there for a reason and that is to correct themselves. The use of meditation is effective due to the fact that it lets someone realize who they actually are and gives him/her a chance to develop personally as mentioned in the movie dhamma brothers. This personal development should be the key motto for prison system. Through the use of meditation in prison system, i believe that prisoners will have a chance to reflect upon themselves. The only way a person can correct himself is to actually know what he/she really is deep within.
