Majority of students with disabilities are in regular classroom settings (57%) A disability involves a limitation of a person"s functioning that restricts the individual"s abilities. Disability does not mean or imply inability. Impairment refers to a loss or abnormality of body structure, psychological structure or function. Handicap is defined as a condition or restriction imposed on a person who has a disability or impairment by society, the physical environment or the person"s own attitude. The most common problem for students with a learning disability is reading. Dyslexia: a severe impairment in the ability to read; jumbled letters. Dysgraphia: disability characterized in handwriting, spelling or composition. Most learning disabilities are mild, hard to catch, but are lifelong. Adhd: a disability in which individuals consistently show one or more of the following characteristics: (1) inattention; (2) hyperactivity; (3) impulsivity.
