Kurt lewin expressed behaviour as a funcion of the person and the environment. Social psychologists focused on the present moment- arguing that the situaion a person happens to be in at a paricular ime is a key inluence on behaviour. Mimicry: taking on for ourselves the behaviours, emoional displays, and facial expressions of others. For humans, coordinaing our behaviour with others is a key part of learning to get along with each other. Who we are is constantly shaped and paterned by other people. Chameleon efect: describes how people mimic others non-consciously, automaically copying other"s behaviours even without realizing it. ex. Believing that one"s contribuions are not important to the group. Social norms: the unwriten rules/guidelines for how to behave in social contexts. Social loaing: occurs when an individual puts less efort into working on tasks with others.
