Ovarian cancer rates reported to the number of women in the population. Canadian mortality registry contains all medical death certificates from across canada. Who compiles international tables of cause specific mortality. Medical death certificates include: immediate cause of death (the direct cause ie. cardiac arrest, respiratory failure) underlying cause of death (disease or injury that initiated the sequence of events leading to de fall, accident) Antecedent cause of death (events between the underlying and immediate cause of death th interfered with the death - surgery) Cause specific mortality data provides information on what people are dying from. Standards for determining cause of death exist across canada. Some physicians feel inadequately trained to deem the cause of death. The data collected from surveillance must be analyzed and communicated.
